Local Prime-Time Numbers For The 29 U.S. Teams Show MLB Rules Summer TV
Nielsen Media studied 29 home markets for Major League Baseball teams to see how viewership stacked up in prime time.
The local baseball game is the most watched prime time program (broadcast or cable) in 11 of the 29 markets narrowly missing out on the 12th by one-hundredth of a point (New York Yankees).
Baseball is top 3 in 2/3 of the markets.
Sports is the most watched programming on television, but it also has the highest costs for subscribers and advertisers.

The average monthly subscriber fee for SportsNet LA is $4.57/month. If a pay TV provider carries this in their basic package, then every subscriber will see their bill go up by that amount.
